Cupak & Grantang One day, Cupak played a trick on Grantang and the result was that their parents banished their younger son. Forced to wander aimlessly, Cupak sorrowfully follows his brother. They eventually arrive at the palace of Daha, where the King asks them to rescue his daughter from the giant "Limandaru" and promises that the one who succeeds may marry her. Grantang fights bravely and kills the giant, while Cupak cowers behind a tree. That night with Cupak on guard, another giant carries the princess off to the bottom of a deep well. It is Grantang who again rescues the princess by killing the giant. As he sends the princess out of the well, Cupak cuts the rope and returns triumphantly with the Princess to Daha. Grantang escapes and is forced to battle his brother to win back the princess. Grantang is of course the winner and takes the princess as his bride. |
